2023 QRL Community Volunteer Awards
The 2023 QRL Community Volunteer Awards opened on March 1, this year we are doing things a little differently. The award nominations will be open until March 31st, the winners will be announced throughout National Volunteer Week (May 15th – May 21st) and the winners for each category will win a State of Origin Experience!
The award categories are;

Contribution to the Female Game

Match Official Community Award
The awards criteria are:
Volunteer of the Year
Inclusive - of everyone from all cultures and backgrounds
United – focuses on growing the game through leading by example, for all members of the club
Positive – focuses on ensuring everyone who takes part in rugby league in whatever capacity, enjoys the experience
Goes above and beyond
Approachable
Club Administration Of the Year
Governance compliance
Record keeping
Communication initiatives
Revenue initiatives
Transparency of best practice ideas
Community Club of the Year
Consideration of any PEP infringements
Consideration of governance compliance (player registrations, volunteer accreditations, blue cards)
Professionalism of the Club in their processes
The way the Club interacts with other clubs and their members/spectators
Commitment to planning i.e. – improving facilities, succession planning, recruitment, and retention
Community contribution
Inclusiveness of everyone (acknowledging all participants, minority groups and cultures)

Who should I nominate?
This awards campaign is designed to recognise and celebrate the key contributions that volunteers make to maintain and grow rugby league each week across Queensland. It should be noted that when nominating people for these awards, the activities are not limited to the work the nominated volunteer has done in 2023 but recognises their valuable work and accomplishments over their whole period of volunteering.
How do I nominate?
What happens for me, if the person I nominate wins?
The author of the winning nomination for each category, will receive a $200 Equipment Hub voucher (excluding QRL staff)

Tickets to State of Origin – Game 2 – Suncorp Stadium (Brisbane) – 21st June, 2023
Flights (if required)
Accommodation (one night)
Tour of Suncorp Stadium (game day)
Lunch with QRL staff (game day)
Tour of QRL Rugby League Central (game day)
Dinner (game day)

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Community Rugby League, and we invite you to nominate those within your Club/League/Referee’s Association, so that their contribution can be recognised and celebrated.
